R Craig Fisher's Review of NightForce ATACR 7-35x56mm Rifle Scope, 34mm Tube, First Focal Plane

I have been shooting Nightforce NXS scopes since they came out with the R-1 reticle over 10 years ago. The only issue I have had was the thickness of the crosshairs when shooting over 1000 yards. The ATACR and BEAST solved this issue but shooting past 1500 yards needed a boost of comfort by increasing magnification beyond 22 power. The new ATACR7 x 35 x 56 was the key to me shooting beyond one mile accurately and I finally broke the 2500 yard barrier.I can't say anything bad about this scope because I cannot find a thing bad about this scope. Yes, it isn't cheap by any means but there are other brands far more expensive and they all pale by comparison. You won't buy a better scope than this unless Nightforce builds it!
Pros:
  • Everything on this scope is better than it's competitors have out there!
Cons:
  • Can't find anything!
Best Used for:
  • Long Range and Extremely long Range Shooting

About R Craig Fisher from ID, United States

I have lived in the outdoors for a large part of my life. I worked in the corporate business community for a portion of my life because I thought that I would need to in order to provide money and care to raise my children. What a huge mistake and 40 years consumed of my life. So now I am an over-educated hermit living an off-grid life on an off-grid farm in the forests of North Central Idaho.
