R Craig Fisher's Review of NightForce ATACR 7-35x56mm Rifle Scope, 34mm Tube, First Focal Plane

It took me and my friends forever to get to the 2-mile club because when we did it there weren't any good scopes available with enough elevation or windage adjustments built into them to be able to accommodate adjustments to 3500 yds plus with crosshairs thin enough to compensate for what we needed to have. We used our own milling machines to make many of our components, including bullets to handle the B.C.'s that was needed in. 338 and. 308 once we got our hands on some Retumbo and built a. 338 Edge and 300RUM with Luther Walther 36" and 34.5" stainless steel barrels, respectively. Before 2017 was over we managed to put holes in two different pieces of 24" square 1/4" thick steel at 5286 yards and 7051 yards respectively and more money than my house probably cost back in those days. Interestingly enough was the day I made the 2-mile club,my first and second shots hit the target at 12 and dead center. I never pulled the trigger for a third time!
Pros:
  • This is the long range shooters dream scope to me. It is somewhat overpowered, however the power really helps me determine what the wind is doing at extreme long distance and helps me make a good correction. The finer crosshairs really make a huge differe

About R Craig Fisher from ID, United States

I have lived in the outdoors for a large part of my life. I worked in the corporate business community for a portion of my life because I thought that I would need to in order to provide money and care to raise my children. What a huge mistake and 40 years consumed of my life. So now I am an over-educated hermit living an off-grid life on an off-grid farm in the forests of North Central Idaho.
