I have Nikon scopes and 2 other pairs of Nikon binoculars.
When I needed another pair for the barn, that overlooks a pond. There was no second thought.
Optic Planet is the place to go for any glass.
Fast shipping. Fair prices. No hassle. they have everything.
By the way. I need another target scope.

I have not used much but seems to be clear and powerful - I use with a tripod. Reputation that I relied on is excellent. Binoculars feels good in the hands and I like the fact that it is waterproof.

In my previous review that so vehemently complained about the lack of a tripod mounting socket, I want to retract that by stating that I was criticizing the 12x50 Prostaff 5 and definitely not the Action Extreme, which does indeed incorporate a normal concealed 1/4-20 female thread suitable for regular tripod adapters. I happen to own both models, my sad excuse for the confusion, and wish to state that to recompense me for damaging the Prostaff's logo cover they not only sent me a nice Nikon tee-shirt, but promised to replace the scratched-up logo cover. I haven't gotten that yet (they say it has to come from Japan; even so, it has been nearly 2 months!).
So bravo to Nikon for unparalleled optics and great customer service.
Pros:
- Both models highly refined
Cons:
- No tripod socket in the 12x50 Prostaff 5s
Best Used for:
- Huntind, birding, astronomy

Everything about this equipment is top-notch, optics, ergonomics, water and fog proofing. Why, then, doesn't Nikon warn the buyer NOT to attempt removal of the typical tripod socket cover? I assumed at 12x that these must be tripod mountable and, make a long story short, messed up the little cap w/ logo. Nikon informed me that they would not cover that, being my fault (no, it was theirs), and they would send me a decal (!) to hide the scratches I put there with some vice grips that were necessary to get the thing to budge. Incidentally, another company having sold me a similarly priced item, gladly rushed me to tripod socket cover at no charge. That one somebody had, I think, superglued the thing down. I guess one can put this one to good ole Corporate Greed!
Pros:
- A fine instrument worth the pricetag
Cons:
- not tripod mountable in the regular way.
- not tripod-mountable in the standard way.
Best Used for:
- Long range whatever, birding and astronomy...

Much more than I expected, a very good product at a reasonable price. The 10x50 gives you a much better picture than the 8x40 binoculars I had.I am so glad I upgraded. I will continue to purchase all of my Opticsplanet.com.
Pros:
- extremely easy to sight in

These are great crystal clear binoculars at a fraction of the cost of the high end types. They are big and kind of heavy but, IMO are worth it especially if you are a part time user etc. I use mine for hunting and for animal watching/spotting on trips with the family. They are worth every dollar. Only downfall is they are made in CHINA.

Some may say these are a bit heavy but for what one gets the trade off is no biggie. I'm in good shape n can hump these all day in the field any who I bot them for my women and she loves them. You get a lot of bang for your buck with Nikon's.

These binoculars are by far the best we've used for birding and boating! Highly Recommended!! Using a Manfrotto mono-pod and the Nikon Tri-pod adapter takes care of any weight issues.
Pros: Durable, Waterproof
Cons: Slightly Heavy
