Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent binoculars!!!
Excellent quality for the price, sharp, bright & clear. First impression as clear as my Zeiss Diascope , Its perfect for bird watching and is very bright Before getting the monarch i brought and tried many others below $200 mark from different vendors but none of them could come close to the monarch. I would say its the best you can get in this price range I have compared the new di-electric (7294) and the old model with silver coatings (7430). I found the new model gives true colors while the old one had yellowish tint. The di-electric prism coating is excellent for low light situat...

Very nice for the money

I bought these for bird watching and I'm very happy with them. There are higher quality ones out there, but those demand a much higher price. These definitely do the job for someone looking to save money. I would buy them again.

quality problems

the optics are excellent but the eyepiece adjustment for eyeglasses fell off almost as soon as I used these. We also bought a 10x40 pair and they had the same problem within two weeks of use. We had older nikon monarch binocs we bought in 2006 and they were great but were stolen and these were their replacement. I think there is a quality controll problem here and I wonder how well these will hold up long term.

Impressive

I was looking for high-end optics for bird watching but didn't want to spend $1,000 plus for great optics. After reading reviews and after finding the Nikon 8X42mm Monarch ATB binocular at a dealer, so I could check them out first, I was sold on them. The OpticsPlanet purchase price was the lowest I could find anywhere and they were immediately shipped, with free shipping. After using them now for about a month, I could not be more satisfied.
Pros: optics resolution, quality
Cons: lens caps
