Legacy Reviewer's Review of Nikon Prostaff 8x25mm Roof Prism Waterproof Binoculars
Overall, I really like the Nikon 8x25 Prostaff. Compared to my ancient Nikon Travelite III 8x23 (which has also been a solid performer) the Prostaff has a much larger image and is very clear. I'm also impressed by its image in low light conditions, i.e. at twilight. It seems solidly constructed and has a smooth focus adjustment. My only complaint is that the diopter adjustment is stiff and difficult to operate. Part of the problem is that the body and eye cup prevent you from getting a good grip on the diopter adjustment ring. It's also a little heavier than my old binocular, but I'll get used to it. I'm going to try the Nikon 8x25 Travelite V for my wife, since it is 3 ounces lighter (same overall specs, but slightly smaller field-of-view).
Pros: Compact, smooth focus adjustment; clear and undistorted image for a compact binocular
Cons: Awkward diopter adjustment
