Exceptional Value
The Nikon 8x40 Action Binocular is an exceptional value. It is comfortable to hold and relatively light weight for a porro prism binocular.
Pros: Cost, clarity of image, comfort in hand

Visual quality is not the best.
Fogged up internally the first day I used them. It took weeks to clear up. Admittedly I hunt the coast of Washington but it was just a drizzly day, they didn't get soaked.

Nikon Wide angle Binoculars
Recently used on a hunting trip and found the wide angle to be very effective. Really nice optics for the price. They're a bit cumbersome and the front lens covers don't seem to want to stay in place. Overall a really good value.

Good choice for this price. Wide field of view, sharp image, quite good contrast in the evening. Body construction is well made, so you can be satisfied with it

Nikon Action 8x40 binoculars
I was astounded at how bright and clear the image is through these considering the low price. I own more expensive binos (Leica) and these cheap Nikons may not have the "feel" of the high dollar ones, but they are 90% of the performance for 10% of the price. Highly recommended---unless you use them in the rain. They aren't nitrogen filled or waterproof.

Nikon 8X40 Binoculars
I have used these binoculars over a month now on a regular basis and have found the quality to be very good. Very sharp images both near and far. In my opinion they are a very good value.

Great product, poor customer service
I ordered this product in early December as a Christmas present. The company was out of stock and I was told that right away, but I was also told that they expected a shipment in 5-7 days. It wasn't until March that I received my product. The company was totally uncommunicative about the status of my order and every person that I talked to in customer service told me something different. OpticsPlanet offers good deals on great products, but don't buy from here if you need something in a timely manner.

Nikon 8x40 binoculars
This is the first Nikon product I've ever purchased, and they do live up to their standards! Well built ,sturdy design. I have alway's purchased bottom line binocular's. I now see the importance of spending a little extra to get a good quality product. the crystal clear optics have allowed me to see things in the woods that I was probably missing before! I would recommend these scopes to any avid hunter or outdoor enthusiest out there!
