Motown Marty's Review of Nikon M-223 2-8x32mm Rifle Scope
Scope is comfortable length/weight for my AR, and the spot-on programs are nice (I use them for my ProStaff scope on .308 deer rifle). Unfortunately, the reticle circles are extremely small (about half the diameter of those on my ProStaff5 3-9x40) and difficult to see. Likewise for the hash marks in between the circles, which require several seconds of concentration to even find. I guess that would be acceptable for leisurely bench and target shooting, or for shooters with 20:10 hypervision, but I can't imagine getting correct and rapid target acquisition while moving in the field. I would suggest that Nikon consider a hash-mark only system (like the Opmod Zeiss or Burris Fullfield E1) to help make things more visible. I'm going to return it for another product and appreciate Optics Planet help with this.
Pros:
- nice length and weight for AR platform
Cons:
- Reticle circles and subtensions are extremely small
Best Used for:
- leisurely bench shooting
