Monarch rifle scope
I have Lopold and Nikon scopes
This Nikon Monarch to me is much clearer than my Leopolds
In the early mornings and late evenings you can see the clearity of this scope in comparison to
The less expensive scopes
At Optic planet I got a great deal
On this scope
Great performance for the money. Best entry level scope for a optic snob.
I own many high end optics and am a big Leupold VX6 fan. That said, the Nikon Monarch 3 series is a great optic for the money. If you are use to very high end optics but are looking for a a budget scope, this is it. Very bright and consistent performance across its magnification. Eye relief is excellent and not fussy. Aluminum turret caps and smooth magnification adjustment gives this scope a much $$$ feel that what you paid. The only let down is the cheap flip up caps that don't seem to match up to the high quality of the Monarch line. A minor flaw, but no big deal in the actual use of the scope.
Have this one mounted on a 270 Winchester and 300 yard shots are taken easily. I recommend this optic for any hunter looking for a quality budget optic for their hunting rifle that hunts thick woods and open fields where a quick close snap shot might happen or a 300 yard bean field shot is required. The 2.5-10 seems to do it all very compently. A combination of performance and high quality construction has this optic snob take note of the Monarch line. I would buy again.

Disappointed
I purchased this the end of September 2014 for a Christmas gift. When I took it out of the box at Christmas to mount on the rifle I noticed the end caps would not stay closed, they were very poor quality no comparison to the same scope I bought 2 or 3 years earlier. As far as the scope itself it is very high quality & meets all my expectations. I was very dissappointed the cap ends were rubber instead of the hard plastic ones that locked in place that came on my previous scope.
Pros:
- Excellent quality and value
Cons:
- None

Would marry one of these
You can count the number of cells on a fly's eyeballs at 100 meters with one of these. Very nice. I'm glad I spent the money!
Pros: So clear!
Cons: How dare you ask if there are cons!
