Nikon P-223 3x32 bdc carbine scope

by eagleeye, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on October 17, 2018
lets say it's light weight and good looking scope the glass is very clear to look through and the cross hairs and elevation marker are see able even at near dark, I bought it for My 50 caliber beowulf and it's everything I need for the distance of that caliber, it takes the punches, I have not had any trouble from it, by far make very well I love the clicks of the dials to sight in the rifle so easy, the scope is small enough to fit on the upper very well, if anyone is looking for a great scope this is it guys and gals. you can't go wrong with a Nikon .

  • Target Hunting

High quality scope for 22 rifle

by Chip, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on October 12, 2018
I wanted a small light fixed power scope for my Browning Buckmark Target Rifle. This is a little over 8" long and weighs 12.05 oz. Perfect size for a 22 rifle. Most 3-9X rimfire scopes are 12"-13" in length and weigh 14 to 21 oz. which is visually out of balance with the rifle. This scope is crystal clear without distortion. The reticle has fine lines. The tactical turrets work perfectly making it easy to adjust zero and bullet drop but are a little bulky. For my purposes, regular adjusters would have been enough and also would make the scope a few ounces lighter. Unfortunately Nikon only makes a bow hunting model of the 3X scope with small turrets. I was hesitant to try that model on my rifle.

For my Ruger 10/22 Takedown Lite I have a Leupold 4X that is 9" and 8 oz. but it is about $200. This Nikon scope was about $75 less on sale and just as clear; only a little heavier. All other quality 4X scopes are at least 2" longer and more expensive. I also have bought cheap 4x compact scopes in the $20 to $30 range for kids rifles like the Savage Rascal that are similarly small in size but they cannot compare optically due to distortion and thick reticles. They are like looking through the bottom of a coke bottle. This Nikon scope is the smallest and least expensive quality scope. I would highly recommend this for any 22 rifle, especially if off-hand rapid shooting at fleeing tin cans is the soup-du-jour.
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • Compact Size
  • excellent optics
  • convenient tactical turrets
Cons:
  • heavy because tactical turrets
  • bulky because tactical turrets
Best Used for:
  • soup cans
  • tennis balls

Huge bang for your buck!

by WillY, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on September 11, 2018
Clear bright sight picture! Nice fit and finish. Zeros quickly and appears to hold a zero after being dragged around and shaken up through dozens of mags. Nice to see the Nikon logo and nice to see mine was not made in China!! Will buy more!
Pros:
  • Clear sight picture, well made
Cons:
  • None I have found
Best Used for:
  • ar platforms, 5.56

Slick Little Scope!

by Mijo, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on August 31, 2018
Great looking little scope when mounted up to an AR platform. Very quick and easy to setup using NIKON scope rings. I like the Zero adjust and the big click knobs. Sighting in was a breeze! Looking forward to getting it out to 200 yards and 400 yards.
Pros:
  • Perfect scope for an AR.
Cons:
  • Getting out to 400 yards might want for than 3X power.
Best Used for:
  • AR Carbine.

6 shots to zero

by LTL, from MO, United States Written on July 25, 2018
I have this scope mounted on two rifles due to its clear optics, ease of sighting to zero, and it's ability to hold zero for years. First one has been on for 3 years, and after dozens of trips to the range, still shoots to the same point every time. It's compact size is also a plus. Been shooting AR's for 40 years, this is the best scope for the money.
Pros:
  • clear optics, ease of use, compact
Cons:
  • None for me

Solid build - clear view

by Jay, from MI, United States Written on April 16, 2018
Would recommend 9/10. Seems like the eye relief is a bit small - but not a hindrance. Clear view - held true. Looks great on the gun. Sighted in at 50 and 100 yards. Adjustments were easy. Got the recommended scope mounts with it.
