Most Helpful Positive Review a Very nice scope all around
the clarity is amazing. i spot for my dad. hes using a cheap ncstar 3-9. even at 7 power i can see holes apearing on paper at 100yd. i sighted in at 100. ive put 75 to 100 round through my AR since ive had the scope and its been holding zero. Even at 150 yards i shot a 5 shot group within a 2inch group with 1 bullet that i pulled off to the left. pretty good for a carbine. the eyepeice focus and magnification are rubber coated for quick adjustment. like i said, a very nice scope all around. my dads nc star was about the same price but it has a red laser and its a 3-9x42. you cant beat the qual...

Extremely satisfied.

by HS 82, from NM, United States Written on December 3, 2018
Optics for the price are excellent. Holds accuracy and is a perfect fit for my AR. Scope is lightweight and after several hundred rounds is still a tack driver and has required no adjustment. This is an exceptional value.

Ordered to put on 300 blackout ARPlatform. Mounted on rail with nikonm223. Absolutely pleased with price and clairity of scope, so much so I ordered a second one for my Marlin 39M. Going to try and seek an order in on a third one to mount on a marlin 17.
Pros:
  • Clairity and price and shipping was free 2 day.
Cons:
  • N/A

Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32

by Dillon Wooten, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on October 20, 2018
I’ll just say it, these scopes are flat out fantastic. I bought 2 recently and put one on my wife’s 243 and one on my 30-06. They’re very clear and hold a zero like nobody’s business. I actually dropped my rifle on the floor in my house not an hour after sighting it in and panicked. I just knew it was knocked way off, it was still dead on. After a four foot drop. Yeah. I love the fact that the windage and elevation knobs are so easily resettable back to zero on the dial, and the zoom ring isn’t too hard to turn, it’s literally perfect. All lot of our shots on our deer lease are no farther than 150 yards, these will be great!
Pros:
  • The whole package
Cons:
  • Opticsplanets shipping sucks, one of my scopes boxes had been opened also.

A high value for the money

by sleeper, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on December 23, 2016
The scope is well worth the money. Clear optics, zero reset windage and elevation, pick up will in morning or just before sunset, holds zero. My use is on a .22lr for vermin and varmint control. The magnification is perfect, I do not need beyond 7x and I do not use this scope on a .22lr past 100 yards. It has not fogged up in weather. I found no need for 40mm as I can mount this lower to the barrel and I see just as well for my intended purpose. I have not tested this scope on larger calibers, so I cannot comment in those regards.
Pros:
  • value
  • Clear optics
  • Great eye relief
  • resettable turrets
  • does not fog
  • 2-7 magnification does not overwhelm
  • good crosshair
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • pest control
  • fox
  • 22 long rifle
  • Squirrel hunting
  • rabbit
  • rats
  • racoons
  • snake
  • coyote

Excellent scope for the money

by snell28, from PA, United States Written on August 2, 2016
I purchased this scope as a budget option for my CZ-527 in .17 Hornet. Was initially looking at Trijicons and the like, despairing over my shallow wallet. My buddy is a competition shooter and told me Nikon has good glass for relatively cheap. I'm so glad I got this thing! Very crisp image through the scope and excellent light transmission. It has held it's zero fine and the sub MOA adjustments are very nice. If you are looking for a quality scope and don't want to spend close to a thousand dollars, this is the ticket.
Pros:
  • good light transmission
  • Crisp image
  • Versatile magnification range
  • Relatively low profile
Cons:
  • Requires refocusing with magnification adjustment
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Multi-purpose firearms
  • Close to mid-range

Good scope

by Johnny, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on March 27, 2016
Pretty good scope. Bright. Wish it had mil-dot reticle (knew it didn't when I bought it). Hard to beat for the price. I've heard other people complain that when you change the magnification you have to readjust the focus. I just leave it at 7x and haven't noticed any issues.

Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32 riflescope

by jollyroger, from CA, United States Written on February 29, 2016
Nice scope I looked around a lot and for the price this was the best in quality I found. I did not get the scope mounts at the same time and now wished I did. It would have been less expensive and much more convenient. Shipping was good as well.

Willie Joe

I out this on a Marlin 30-30. I like the small variable power scope that doesn't over power the rifle. So far I've shot 1 time after rifle was sighted in and 1 doe is in the freezer. Thanks Nikon and Optics Planet for a great teamed effort!!!

Great Scope

by Islander4, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on September 9, 2014
Purchased this scope and M223 mount for my AR rifle and it was a wise decision. The scope is sized just right for the AR and the mount is one of the best I have ever used. The eye relief on the Nikon Pro Staff is very generous which provides flexibility on where you mount the scope and the clarity is very good for a compact scope. Extremely happy with both Nikon products.
Best Used for:
  • hunting with an AR or MSR type rifle, plinking, low light shooting, mid-range shooting
