Great value in a scope for rimfire.
This is a great scope. Nikon quality is definately there.
my only problem with this scope is that it doesn't have an AO adjustable objective feature.
i do a lot of indoor shooting and this one is pretty out of focus at 25 yards. it's not unusable, but you will need to use the lower magnifications

Buy the 3 x 9.
I have at least 6 Nikon 3 x 9 rimfire scopes. They are great. I thought I would try something different for longer shots. This 4 x 12 is not great. It does not appear to be as well made as the 3x 9. Fuzzy around the edges on higher powers. On 9 power at 100 yards I was making 3" groups.. I know th...

Great scope and need to understand BDC before buying
I really like this scope and I bought it knowing that the BDC is based on a 1600 FPS projectile, so I use it with CCI Stinger .22LR—which is ammo I really like anyway. The BDC is slightly less easy to use with anything else because you need to break out the Nikon spot on App to adjust for FPS. I do wish Nikon would have used a 1200 FPS assumption but I cannot ding the star rating as I knew what I was buying before hand. Glass clarity and build quality are good.

100 Yard Wonder
This is a great scope. I shoot at 100 yards and score really tight groups. And the adjustable magnification is a real plus. And best of all is the price. Excellent value on any scale. The price was exceptional. Works with my P-Series rings.
Pros:
- Variable magnification for distance shots
Cons:
- None actually
- none that i can think at the moment
Best Used for:
- 100 yard shooting

Nikon Rimfire 4-12X40mm
Great bang for the buck! This scope has very clear glass, and seems to gather light well. I haven't tried it in low light situations. I has a smooth zoom focus ring with a decent size knob on it. This scope was very easy to zero, I bore sighted it looking through the barrel with the bolt removed and after 5-6 shots I was on zero. The BDC reticle is nice, I'm looking forward to shooting at various distances on the same range outing. The only thing I do not like is the plastic turret covers.
Pros:
- Clear glass and 4-12 power zoom
Cons:
- Plastic turret caps
Best Used for:
- Target shooting and hunting

Pros:
- crisp glass and reticle
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting small game nice to find the reticle.

Super accurate!!
I purchased this scope for my .17hmr savage semi-auto rifle. The scope took two shots to get on center!!! Super accurate, easy to adjust. I’m going next weekend to split a playing card with my setup!! Awesome product. Ordering another one for my Henry Golden Boy!!

Great Value for the Money
I purchased this scope for my Ruger .22LR Precision Rimfire rifle. It was easy to zero in. The extra zoom helps with my old eyes as well. I haven't taken it out for anything beyond 50 yards yet, so I can't really speak to the BDC or app recommendations. If you have a .22LR rifle, I think you will be happy with this piece of glass.
