Worked great for 5 to 6 months.
Part of my tier one edc until I get a different light. Perfect size and battery, decent battery life, function operation isn't complex at all. What else could you want?
The nitecore mt1a I received was reliable for about 6 months. It started to to be temperamental with changing options around 6 months after receiving it.
Now it is sometimes picky about when it wants to turn on at all in its primary mode, turbo.
Surefire has never failed me in 15 years. That's all.

Compact, rugged, and AA
My sole intention in purchasing the Nitecore MT1A was to acquire an EDC flashlight that was rugged, compact, and which ran on AA batteries. This fits the bill beautifully. Take couple minutes to get used to the mode-selection button on the tail cap ... The rest is as simple as it gets. A great light for EDC, emergency preparedness, camping etc. I like mine so much that I plan on getting one or two more for my car & home.
