Most Helpful Negative Review Half of the set is junk.
The 3/32 bolt catch removal punch broke with minimal force. Delrin punch is made of soft plastic. The small drift pin definitely has its uses and the pivot pin detent tool makes installation of the takedown pins a breeze.

Obsidian tool set

This is great. I just like to play around swap things on my ARs sometimes and this is helpful. The trigger pins are a breeze with the drift pin. Love it.

The Quality Seems To Be There

I haven't used this item yet, either, so for many this will be a worthless review. However, I do want to state that the quality of the kit seems to be good enough. One reviewer characterized the "delrin" push rod as not delrin at all, but cheap plastic. I didn't find that to be the case in the kit I received. I won't insist that it is indeed delrin - I don't know - but it certainly appears to be sturdy enough for its intended purpose. I wasn't disappointed in it at all. The entire kit appears substantial enough to do its intended job, and it's U.S.-made! Yes. I'd buy it again.

  • None, it's a simple, straightforward kit.
Best Used for:
  • Ir;s intended purpose: Hammer & trigger pin installation.

Must have for AR builders.

Worth the purchase for the bolt catch punch alone. The price is right and the other peices are a bonus. Use the bolt punch one time and in my opinion, it has paid for itself. Wish I had this set long ago. If so, I could have avoided many scuffs and dings to my lowers.

  • Preventing damage to your AR lower
