I bought this after watching a video on YouTube about installing a barrel. The video went in depth on vise blocks and action rods. I had already owned a couple different styles for upper receivers to include a action rod but I liked the points that the guy had made about this style of vise block. This was also my first time installing a barrel so I wanted to make sure I had a couple options incase I had any issues. Well I ended up only needing this vise block and I now use it for a lot of the upper receiver tinkering I do with my AR's.

This is a great upper block, solid and dependable!

This block is the way to go. I used it within a couple days of getting it to swap out a rear charging upper for a new side charging upper, it slid in both uppers nice and tight and the holes for the pins lined up perfectly. I highly recommend Obsidian Arms AR-15 Upper Receiver Vice Block

Couldn’t ask for a better rig for the price. This thing is great quality and the hpde material really allows you to torque it into the vice whereas some metal units I’ve used in the past cannot.

Works great worth the money just to keep from scratching your gun.

IMO this is the best HDPE style upper receiver vise block ive came across. Well made and machined and both uppers I installed it in fir perfectly and tight with very little movement. Supports upper at bottom near pins to the top where charging handle rides. Ive done 4 builds over the past few years and have accumulated alot of different vise blocks. This block plus the 5 others I own means I can do anything that needs to be done on a AR style rifle. 1)-Obsidian Arms HDPE Upper Receiver Vise Block 2)-PlastiX HDPE Picatinny Flat-Top Rail Vise Cover 3)-SquirrelDaddy HDPE Mag Well v3 Vise Block 4)-NCStar Alum. Lower Receiver Vise Block 5)-Midwest Ind. Steel Upper Receiver Reaction Rod (MI-URR) 6)-Carbon Polyomer Solutions Nylon/Carbonfiber Buffer Tube Vise Block. All but 1 of these vise blocks were affordable aside from the Midwest Ind. URR which I paid $90 for but its the only one ill use for barrel nuts & muzzel devices and it will also tell you if your barrel is clocked properly.

Priced well and works like it’s supposed to. Easily able to torque barrel nut and muzzle device. Remember to take out charging handle or it won’t fit inside the receiver.
