The wave function is unique and quite appealing, but it does have drawbacks depending on how you are using the headlamp. For myself as a plumber who crawls around under buildings and has my hands working right in front of me, the light keeps going on and off by itself as my hands flash by doing my work. I have to disable that function every time I work. If I was just hiking with my hands down it would be fine. Since it has a disable feature for the infra red I have no complaints and think it a very good headlamp.
