I have had one of the ATN LT 160's for several years and never have been impressed with it. When getting ready to upgrade I looked at other brands but when Optics Planet ran a heck of a sale on the Thor 5 3-24 640 in gray I had to jump on it. The clarity and resolution is WAY better than the old LT. Fairly simple to set up and use. Be sure and update the firmware. I'm mostly hunting hogs at 100 yards or less and it works very well for that. The suggested digital zoom is a little misleading as it pixilates pretty badly at 12 so I doubt 24 is useable. Really my only complaint is that there was a button on the old LT where you could toggle between white hot and black hot whereas the Thor 5 it takes several steps through the menu, or at least that's what I've found. I don't get into all the streaming and videoing so can't comment on that. I just want to reduce the hog population. Taken a few hogs with it already and overall very happy with the scope so far.

This is a great scope for the money, clarity is really good. Very impressed.

This is my first thermal after having an IR scope. This model is easy to use and the 640 sensor is the minimum I would get for general hunting. The Thor 5 has a bunch of color options depending on what you like. The black hot works great for day hunting and I will have one in the blind with me from here out. No animal gets past you unnoticed. I bought another one 3 days later with the range finder and using this one for in the hunting bag.

The clarity of this thermal is by far the best thermal i have ever owned.

I did not receive the quick release that was a part of this OPMOD package!!!

I updated the firmware and the reticle disappeared. Called ATN tech support and they said this can happen when the scope is older and the firmware jump is large, they noted based on the serial number this was an early production unit. It has gone back and I await its return. If all is well when it returns, I would says its worth it, as it was significantly less expensive with the only difference seeming to be that it is gray.

I've had it on my rifle about a week and killed 3 hogs already. Battery last a long time. I charged it when I took it out of the box and had it on for hours and it's still at 60%.
