Most Helpful Positive Review Opticsplanet branded ATN Thermal Scope
My grey colored ATN thermal 5 th gen 640 4-32x scope works great. All I could see different after working with it was the exterior color was grey vs black. I upgraded the scope's firmware with the regular firmware from the ATN web site and it was successful. In short the Opticsplanet branded scope seems to be a normal ATN scope colored grey and priced lower. I have not needed to call for problem support but I suppose it will be supported through Opticsplanet rather than ATN

For the fancy box this thing came in, I expected a little bit more out of the product. It took a while to get used to adjusting everything, figuring out the common issues, which is are compounded by one of the biggest issues with the product.... The buttons! About 80% of the time I have to hit it multiple times before it takes. What should take me 8 button keys, will take 40. Less than a month in and finally take it on a hunt, see a pig, turn scope on, as I bring the rifle and scope up, the image goes inverted and starts going the wrong way. 50 button clicks later and a restart, everything was back to normal but my pig was gone.....

New toy needs a micro SD card to work

Please have a micro SD card from 4-64 GB card ready for your new toy. I had a old 2GB I was going to use but had some issues on start up so had to order a new card. The manual is the only place I found where the SD capacity was stated.

Thor 5 with my rifle

My Thor 5 640 was for a dream build! It was on right out of the box with easy to instructions. The one shot sighting in is amazing. I have had no problems. The battery life lasts crazy long. It’s a game changer! Buy one you won’t be sorry!

OPMOD Thor 5 4x32 640

First I'll say I've had ATN since Xsight HD and love them. This one is the Best yet tho. Far clearer than my Thor 4 384. But the real news is the AMAZING DEAL, the OPMOD was like 38% off. I don't know why they lowered them but I snached it right up. The detail in this thing is just superb, I'm hunting with it right now. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the mount, as with all ATN scopes they include one...but they ate always lacking. Don't get me wrong it's usable but on my AR10 it barely clears the rail on the forend. So much so that the flip up scope cap won't close without scraping the rail. The QD levers were also difficult to adjust fo good tension, but at $2399 for a 640 12um 4x32 thermal it's still a steal. And yes I'm using the mount tonight until I get one I like better. All in all if you are thinking about it you won't regret it, just go for it.

ATN Thor 5 4-32 Thermal scope

I highly recommend the ATN Thor 5 Thermal Rifle Scope. It comes with a Picatinny, quick disconnect, rail mount.
Easier than the Thor 4 to set up. I have a Thor 4 and now a 5. Love them both.
Clarity is superb with crisp details.
Optics Planet requires a ITAR Compliance Certification which they make easy to fill out and return. However this will somewhat delay shipment a short time.

  • Takes a while to get used to instructions
