c00lTXMan's Review of SIG SAUER OPMOD Romeo5X 1x20mm 2 MOA Dot Compact Reflex Red Dot Sight

I actually bought this to place on a 450 Bushmaster, thinking that 2MOA was plenty and since sight wouldn't be an issue, I own the OPMOD. ;) - I was building a 7.62x39, had it in my vice and saw it on the table and decided to go sight the 7.62x39 in and also , since I figured the rifle would likely be sloppy; with TulAmmo, I wwent to the Range -

POW, WOW! - This sight is very tight, as well as the gun - I was impressed - the 7.62x39 was able to keep the rounds in a 1.73 inch circle, and the more I shot, the bigger that same hole got - less paper and more hole.
The OPMOD adjustments were needed twice, I didn't bring the booklet so, I went with what I thought was 1/2" at 100, and was off - I adjusted 8 clicks, and that ended up moving me half my needed - 8 more and I was dead in the bull at 100 yards. Figure that's about 2" low at 50 or, 1.5 at 50 to be Dead On at 100 -

This changed my mind on red-dot as a viable long range, within the limits of ones eyes, the 2MOA wasn't washed out or stray... It is very crisp - I have long range loss of sight so, with glasses, there are no issues at all. Someones with close range loss, may want to test it before using glasses or, without glasses - since the human eye would attempt to adjust the dot being close, there are no adjustments in the tunnel - what you see is what you get.

I was reluctant with the new battery option, and when I got mine, it was 101 degree in TX, and was outside and hot - the battery that came with it, lost enough to not work- and I for a short time, thought I got a lemon - I tossed a new lithium battery in and BAM, it was on.

This is now mounted on my truck gun and has caused me to get semi-matching furniture to go with it - Its a nice device that works so well, I am thinking of getting another.
