Impressive Performance from a Solid Optic

by Andrew, Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on March 3, 2022
My first impression of this optic was the impressive zero it had right out of the box. I had ½” groupings at 25 yards without making any adjustments. When I was ready to start making adjustments, I did run into some challenges with removing the caps on the windage and elevation knobs. They have retaining straps attached to the caps which make them somewhat challenging to remove quickly for someone with large hands. This wasn’t a significant issue as red dot adjustments should be uncommon once you have it zeroed. Once the caps were off, adjustments were simple with defined clicks with each turn. It came with a QD mount as well as a fixed low-rise mount which makes it versatile to use on several different rifles. I typically prefer holographic sights over these tube style optics, but the glass and eye relief were both impressive and allowed for quick and easy target acquisition. One often overlooked feature, but one that is significant is that it takes a single AA battery. Every other optic I own requires some form of CR battery which are not always easy to find and expensive to stock up on. This and the fact that the battery can be changed without removing the optic from the rifle are big wins for me. If firearm aesthetics is important to you, the FDE finish is close to an exact match with the Magpul FDE finish. Overall, this optic has many of the features you would expect from a red dot in a much higher price range, and I highly recommend it.
Most Helpful Positive Review Sig Romeo 7 OpMod FDE
This is a GREAT red dot for ARs. First, the color is an excellent match to Magpul FDE. No 50 shades of FDE here. The 30mm objective is great, and offers a much better field of view over smaller red dots. In fact, while I was perfectly happy with the Romeo 5 (22mm objective) on my AR pistol, I remove...

Most Helpful Negative Review Poor ON/OFF placement
I am wishing I had not bought this optic. The quality is nice and it works just fine, except the placement of the on/off switch is such that I am (was) constantly pinching my finger tips between the optic and the upper every time I turned it on, or adjusted the brightness. The AimPoint CompM4 is of...

Sig Romeo7

by Jeff, from KS, United States Written on December 20, 2022
Very good red dot optic. I’ve used some other red dot optics and the sight picture you get with the 7 is one of the best. I also like the way it looks on the rifle. It says a 60,000 battery life but have to wait and see how true that is. Great optic and very affordable

Poor mans Comp M4

by Drifter, from MI, United States Written on October 24, 2022
I belive this is one of the best reddots for under $200. This optic will take abuse just fine and the battery life is very good. It comes with a QD mount that holds zero well, The 30mm lense makes it easy to find the dot when bringing the rifle up on targets. The dot is easily visible in sunlight but it can get washed-out/blurry when going into a darker area.
Pros:
  • durable
  • bright
  • afforable
Cons:
  • Heavy

Solid optic, super fast shipping

by Paul, from CA, United States Written on October 24, 2022
Great buying experience. Beefy optic with nice color. Got to me very fast. The optic is large and heavy but well made and with a clear window. I would only suggest it's use for people who don't mind heavier equipment.

Good quality

by Gary Barton, from NE, United States Written on October 15, 2022
Very happy so far with this sight. A little heavier than I expected, but it's just solidly built. The adjustment caps are a little difficult to remove, but the manual says they're supposed to be that way. For the money it's a great unit.
