This is my second ra-242 I have the 1st gen and just installed the 2nd gen. I much prefer the set screw installation of the 1st gen over the springs in the 2nd gen. It is a pain in the azz to get the trigger pin holes to line up with receiver. I had to use a hammer to get the 2nd pin aligned correctly. All things seemingly being the same other than the springs replacing the set screws, black trigger shoe and the casset being half cut get the 1st gen.
Pros:
- Short reset
- Priced affordable
- Crisp & clean break when firing
Cons:
- harder to install than previous model
