Take your rifle to the next level. - MDT Howa 1500 Oryx Rifle Chassis

This chassis perfectly splits the difference between an aftermarket stock like hogue or magpul to the high end MDT ESS or ACC chassis systems. I ultimately went with the oryx because it’s a one piece solution compared to piecing together aftermarket parts on an LSS. I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. The machining quality, feel and finish is top notch. Installation was relatively simple. Installation of the mag catch pin can be finicky but not impossible. No improvement in accuracy was seen but that’s most likely my fault with optics, wind, load, how much caffeine I had prior to shooting. The ergonomics are worth every penny. Grip is nicely designed. The barricade stop is a nice touch, Overall the sheer weight (chassis at 3 pounds 12oz to a finished rifle weight of 11 pounds 5oz) took all of the recoil out of the already mild 223 Ruger action this was mated with. This makes it possible to see your impacts through the optic, which is great when a spotter is not available. MDT customer service was excellent when I called and asked about magazine compatibility which is an issue with 223/300blk Rugers. Metal magazines are the solution.
