Originally in the market for a vortex, I was facing the probability of having to spend $1,000 or more for my Optics. On a Savage 110 ba 338 Lapua Mag this would be expected. Happened to attend the gun show looking for ammo, I came across ospreys booth full of all kinds of Optics. Prices were too good to be true if what I was looking at was anywhere near what I was already in the market for. After talking with the rep decided to go with the 10-40 with the range finding reticle. osprey scope

Osprey is a very good scope. compaired to other scopes it stands up with the best of them. I own two of them and use them a lot on my 556 and 6.5 creedmoor. The price point as well in range of other scopes.

Osprey 10x40x50 illuminated scope

I have owned this scope for 4 + years and I have been very excited with it's performance. I just took a 100 # doe at 220 yards with a head shot. I have taken coyotes at night using the illuminated reticle with pinpoint accuracy. Mine is mounted on a Remington 700 tactical, in 308 caliber, shooting 150 grain Hornady SST ammo. I also practice 500-600 yard target practice and I am well pleased with the accuracy on a 6x6" target. I am a 8 year veteran Marine and couldn't be happier with the scopes performance. Sure you can buy better glass but I haven't seen a reason too.
