Patrol parka is a 10/10 highly breathable bomb proof waterproof hard shell worth every cent!!! - OTTE Gear Hard Shell Patrol Parka - Men's

Blessings, my wife and I wanted a solid hard shell jacket for our 4 boys and knew Otte quality from my time in USN. Ordered the jackets and then upon getting several emails from OP I wanted to know when they would ship the jackets but I could not get them to send me a shipping date. Frustrated I then read up on OP and found that they have a semi bad history of saying items are in stock and selling the item only to later (in some cases much later) find out they are out of stock on what you ordered and then a hassled in refunds ect. So we contacted Otte who said yes OP had bought out their old stock of Patrol Parkas. Again I asked OP when we would get our jackets and I could get no answers from them other than a group response of “due to COVID” we are experiencing delays ect. Ok I was about to pop white smoke and exphill. bail out on this company but wife and I prayed and the Lord said it would come. Sure enough our order arrived about a month from point of order. Why is this good? Here is why, So Otte Patrol parkas are one of the best quality parkas made and retail is $400.00. If you had to have one hard shell it would be worth the money even at $400.00. However, at $150.00 these Partol Parkas are a steel and below cost. Here is what makes these Parkas worth the money. First, they are made on Event not goretex which not only breaths better than goretex but it holds up better as well. Goretex like apple has rested on their laurels rather than improving their quality over the years due to substantial government contacts. Event is a modern and much more breathable fabric and in side by side tests wearers report much less condensation inside their jackets than goretex. So if your looking for a bomb proof hard shell this is it. And for kids rather than a jacket that will last one year and rip this is worth the money and last for several kids in a hand-me-down environment. Be advised that these parkas run small in my opinion (good for kids, bad for adults) I am normally a large but an extra large is a tad small for me in this case as I will be wearing layers under this and this need the room. So I am 5’10” 190 and wear a large in level 6 Millitary parka (but they are cut to have room for layering underneath the Patrol Parka is not) but a large in this Parka is tight and athletic cut so no room for even a bulky large sweatshirt. So if your a Large order an Xl and if an XL order a XXL if you intend to layer underneath. I usually wear a Polartec alpha jacket underneath and if cold enough I also wear an level 7 (puffy ) vest as well so that I can layer off if I get warm. For those that do not understand what a shell is it is just that a top layer to an onion if you will. The Hard shell is absolutely waterproof and all seams taped but it has no insulation to it as it is made to wear over other layers. Hence the beauty here is this is the top and you wear multiple layers underneath depending on outside temperature your activity level ect. **** This is a rugged highly breathable waterproof shell period no insulation to it so it alone will not keep you warm***** On OP I can not speak on their past but they kept in contact with me during the time I ordered and thought they could not tell me when our parkas would arrive they did infact arrive. Point in fact the largest compliment you can make to a online co. is to place another order. I intend to save the large for our oldest kid and order myself an XL as the price is outstanding. So if your ordering and want a great price and are not in a hurry to get it, order in confidence. God Bless and God Bless America the greatest country on The Lords flat earth.
