Blessings, my wife and I wanted a solid hard shell jacket for our 4 boys and knew Otte quality from my time in USN. Ordered the jackets and then upon getting several emails from OP I wanted to know when they would ship the jackets but I could not get them to send me a shipping date. Frustrated I then read up on OP and found that they have a semi bad history of saying items are in stock and selling the item only to later (in some cases much later) find out they are out of stock on what you ordered and then a hassled in refunds ect. Better than I thought
This was thicker than I thought it would be, and very durable in feel. The size small is a perfect fit for me, and that's rare, so I am more than pleased. It has plenty of pockets, and another little gem I like are the pit zippers. Which are a life saver on long hikes, when you just need some cool air, but its still too cold to remove the whole jacket. A removable hood would have been nice, it seems a bit bulky around the neck, but it's doable. Well worth it, can't wait to get this broken in, it will be my 'go to' for sure!

Great hard shell!
This is my third Otte Parka. I have 2 large and one extra large. It works very well and is durable. Sizes are true but if you’re a heavyset person or you’re wearing a lot of layers or plates be sure to order a size up. I do recommend this especially on sale.

Nice jacket but…
Waterproof, lots of features, seems high quality. Tan color is good and I like the hood. Nice jacket but runs a little small, order one size up unless you are very thin. It fits but a little snug for me.

Technical jacket
This item would get a 5 star if it weren’t for the zipper giving me a hard time both zipping on and off. It works but is very fussy and requires a large degree of finesse to engage and disengage. On a positive note the fabric has a soft awesome feel and is very wind and water proof. All seams are taped. The pockets will allow for access with backpack or plate carrier in place. The fit is snug and the jacket bottom is tapered. You won’t be able to layer a lot underneath this jacket. I manage to comfortably wear a thermal shirt and a light Northface wind stopper fleece underneath. I have an Otte alpine jacket also and you won’t be able to fit this comfortably under the Patrol

Great Value For Superb Shell
I purchased this shell after comparing it to comparable high end shell with similar features. Material, features, quality, and workmanship are ad good if not better. I purchased it as primarily as a shell to layer over a hunting jacket in adverse conditions. Secondarily as an early season out layer. It is perfect for both. I am 6'1" and normally wear a large. The alone is great. Over a midweight jacket the fit is not too tight and range of motion is fine. Most important it will provide the protective layer I was missing. An extra large was just too big. If you like lots of room go a size larger.
Pros:
- The chest pockets are huge and perfectly placed for access with a pack on. The pit zips are generous.
Cons:
- Sizes are true to size but trim. If rou carry extra weight in the abdomen go one size up.

Great option when ordering the tan.
Great option when ordering the tan for less than $200. No other jacket will provide as many features for the money. The quality via the fit and finish is excellent. There is enough room for layering but the jacket is not too large that it looks silly. Great all around jacket. Can even work under a plate carrier if need be. I have not used it in the rain yet, so TBD on one of its main functions. The stitching and zippers look good. Very cool that you can zip and unzip in either direction. Great for those concealed carrying.
