Leiter's Review of OTTO Engineering NoizeBarrier Micro

These are not cheap but you get what you pay for. These are very good set of hearing pro. I use these in conjunction with overear pro and LOVE how these sit low in your ear.

Still new and have only used it twice now for significant period of time but I have experienced no faults at all.

The individual batteries last a fair amount of time and the larger container unit battery is giant and would probably charge the earbuds half a dozen times before dying. This was a key point for me as a back country hunter where I'll be away from a power source.

The LCD screen is bright and to the point. There are magnets that retain the earbuds in their charging ports. I love the simple operation.

The audio quality is very good. The cut in/out is VERY good and gradual, not choppy like many others. It's like a completely normal sound experience except the loud noise was just reduced.

Nothing is perfect and so to be fair my ultra minor grips are:
- there are only two active sound level settings. You could say three, off, normal, loud. I would prefer more volume options.
- I don't like that the cord is the older micro usb-A type connector. An amazon order fixes this but its called 'universal' serial bus right?
- the body of the case is great but the latch mechanism could be beefed up a little more with a denser/thicker plastic

These are very very minor and I would buy these again if I loose them in the mountains.
Pros:
  • Quiet operation
  • protection from noise
  • Ease Of Use
  • Low profile and comfortable, clear amplification
  • audio quality
  • Fit & Comfort
  • battery and battery life
Cons:
  • cost
  • volume control
  • Charge handle is a little cheap.
  • charger port not usb-c
Best Used for:
  • long days
  • deep hunting
