Most Helpful Positive Review SOCOM Tough
Mounted this scope on my .458 SOCOM in combination with an offset red dot sight, and am very happy with how well this scope performs. The glass is incredible for the amount of money you are spending, the turrets are clean and precise, very easy to zero, parallax function works flawlessly and after 300 rounds have not had to touch the turrets as it has held zero just fine. Both the turrets and the reticle are calibrated in MIL's, and the added throw lever completes a very neat and tidy package which is what I personally like. Nice solid LPVO

Overall I like this Patriot Optics Patrol 3-12x scope. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the reticle and the illumination. Sometimes would lose the center on the reticle by getting it mixed up with other nearby lines, they can look very similar especially when zoomed in at 10-12x, and the center illumination is weak during the day so it isn't distinguished very well by illumination. Can't see the green at all really during the day. Perhaps it's just me and my eyes and I need a different type of reticle. Everything else is real solid, glass is great, very good value.

  • Sturdy holds center no problem shooting 5.56
Cons:
  • illumination weak
  • Reticle center to similar to everything else

Great scope for the money

This scope is great quality for the money. The focus at distance feature is a good option. I was able to sight in and 0 at about 12 shots. I only have 2 small complaints. #1- Shooters grid is very fine, especially for old eyes. #2- The eye relief starts to fade at 8x and above. Overall though, quality purchase.

  • Clear glass, awesome mechanics, great focus, solid base
Cons:
  • Light shooters grid, eye relief over 8x
Best Used for:
  • Sub 300yds
