I own four Pelican cases. Two of this model which has wheels, a long gun model with wheels, plus a smaller model of this without wheels. The military uses Pelican cases to transport their sensitive gear, so if it's good enough for them who put it through extreme conditions, having it tossed around by baggage hangers is not a problem. Downside it that it is heavy, around 13 lbs for this model and 23 lbs for the long gun case. I use two master locks to secure it, the cases are usually weighing near 50 lbs when I am flying. If I am transporting ammo, which is heavy I do not use all the foam, instead I use a cardboard custom sized box filler so the a month don't shift. This is an excellent case and when transporting firearms or ammo it must be checked in, and often transported with oversized baggage free. In most sports it is placed separate from the generally, depending at whatever airport back wall with oversized or at customer service where you need to show a claim check or ID. Different airlines have different weight limits on ammo. Alaska airlines allow 50 lbs on most flights, many others only allow 15 lbs. firearms must be declared and a copy of a signed form the carrier supplies must be placed in the bag. Some airports want to inspect what's inside if declaring firearms or ammo, others do not when checking it in. My smaller Pelican case with camera equipment is not checked in and it passes TSA without a problem. Great case, worth every penny for peace of mind and safety.

This case is the indestructible case for air travel. It is legal size so you do not get hassles during check in or at the gate. The wheels housings inside do give some problems, but these are minor. Pelican stands behind it with a life time guarantee. The locks you put on give it an added security feature.

Pelican cases is a house hold name. I originally purchased the case not for the intent of transporting expensive equipment but for personal air travel. For the most part it is and can be used for that, but I returned it due to case weight 11lbs no foam, on top of added weight with what you pack in it. It may exceed some airline required weight minimum for over hang carry.
Therefore I exchanged for the Pelican 1535 air 8lbs no foam. In true essence the 1510 is the case you want for travel if you have expensive equipment travelling with you via (camera, video, musical inst, etc). This is the true bullet proof vest for those items that need it & by all means will protect it through & through. It's a Pelican!!!
Pros:
- Protectively
- Bullet Proof
Cons:
- Too heavy for personal luggage carry on.
Best Used for:
- Transport expensive eqpt.

This is a great Pelican case - small enough to easily store in the overhead compartment while flying, tuff, organized, and portable in airports as a carry on with its wheels and retractable handle for those of us that do not want to check your $10,000 in camera equipment to be tossed around by the baggage handlers. The construction qulaity is amazing.

Rugged, tough, all around great case. Fits in most overheads on the airlines; even the regionals. Buy the organizer for the interior to have better separation for you small items. This case is a must have if you travel on a regular basis.

We're a custom manufacturer of tooling and power supplies for hydro-forming equipment. We probably have more than a dozen different military style cases we use at work for everything from storage, to shipping, to building power supplies into. This is hands down the most useful case we've come across. While it's not large enough for some of our bigger systems to be built into, it seems to be the perfect size for keeping 90% of our tooling in. We use this case for building one of our smaller hydraulic pump systems into, and a few of our techs use them for tool boxes. The wheels and handles are positioned just right and the case is of optimal size to be used as a carry-on when flying. Personally I have one I use for sales/marketing and have installed the lid organizer which makes an already great case even more useful. Highly recommended.
Pros:
- Price
- Durability
- Size
- Waterproof
- Finish
- wheels
- handles
Cons:
- Weight; it get's heavy...
Best Used for:
- Travel
- tool storage
- custom use

I was looking for a case I could carry on the back of my quad. It had to be sturdy and rugged. I have a Pelican rifle case, it's over the years old but would would have never guessed it, I bet it will be here after I'm gone. This case is perfect for those sensitive items I carry, binoculars, spotting scope, and range finder.

Wish there was a design your own program and ways you could integrate with battery chargers, media storage.
I like Pelican products just wishing for even more.
Pros: Well designed with wheels, handles and security features. Floats.
Cons: Probably won't survive a nuclear blast but up to that you're good.

I was introduced to these cases when I started scuba diving years ago. They are great for protecting whatever you carry from your everyday briefcase to $8k worth of video equipment. I have never had regular luggage just pelican cases. I always have my cameras and regulator in this case. The only con I have ever found is these cases do attract attention and I have had a couple "LOST" when traveling aboard.
Pros: MADE IN USA! LIFETIME WARRANTY!
Cons: People asking to see it then asking dumb questions. ITS A PELICAN!

I use this case every day for a tool box. One case has my hand tools and the other has all of my test equipment. The pluck foam keeps all items in place, travels well without any damage to the contents.
Pros: Great case for travel.
Cons: Have not found any cons
