Perfect size, sturdy and well made to protect my rifle whilew transporting

Very sturdy, solid feel that will last a lifetime. It is heavy, but a tradeoff for something so solid.

Got this beaut in Green for my Bullpup. The gun is camouflaged by Realtree and the case beautifuylly compliments the majestic gun. The YouTube video from Optics Planet for cutting foam was very good too.
The case is a must have if you cherish your guns.

Does Pelican even need a review? The case is awesome. Heavy and solid. Takes a beating in the truck bed on long drives. Loved the How-to video on cutting foam. A must watch. Cutting foam to fit Airforce Talon was not easy. Requires a lot of patience and self forgiveness.
A must have for any one serious about gun transport .

Well i got this in the OD green and love the color. I haven't tested the waterproof claim yet. I can fit one rifle with a scope in this case and still have room for mags and a hand gun or two. I could also fit my Tikka T3X TAC A1 with 24" barrel AND SCAR 17S in this case but they can't have optics on them if i do that. *Both have folding stocks that make this possible*. I have an 18" AR10 that fits nicely even with the stock extended one space and it has a very long brake on it. I would think a 20" AR10 would also fit without a problem. As for bolt guns with longer fixed stocks i do not know. I highly recommend buying extra foam for whatever load out you need to transport at the time. If this doesn't sound big enough i'd recommend you look into something else. If i had to do it again, i'd probably buy something bigger, rather than two different hard cases. That being said, i can always bring my scopes in my suitcase if i put them in padded boxes and even if you did leave it on the rifle you should always RE-Zero when you get to wherever you're going. I have yet to fly with it but i will be flying in Sept with it and that will be the first time i'm ever transporting a firearm. Honestly, it's a little nerve racking. Personally, i wish Pelican and Optics planet offered this with locks for extra. I'm not sure how hard it will be to find locks that are the ideal size for this case. Great case. Looks great and performs the same. Seems extremely sturdy and durable. The wheel seem to work well and the foam on the inside is quality. I would definitely purchase again but probably won’t ever need another.

As stated in every other review, the cases are awesome. They will protect your investment and look awesome while doing it. One thing I will note is the 1700 can fit a 16" AR also. I was worried my AR wouldn't fit so I purchased the 1720 but there is a lot of room left over. I actually can fit 2 16" AR's in the 1720. So if you are only looking to put one AR I would save the money and go with the 1700.

Very well made and fits well for a carbine size rifle. Watch the web site's video on cutting the liner so you can get it right. The lock points are reinforced but only two have metal mounts. Will take four locks however.

Worth every penny to protect long guns for long or short travel trips. Water tight and sturdy construction. Heavy duty holes for sturdy locks on both ends and handles to both carry like a suitcase or drag behind using the wheels to roll it. My first Pelican purchase and would consider them again.

Purchased the Pelican 1720 with foam in black. Removed the foam and added a SERT soft case that fits perfectly in the 1720. This makes for a perfect combination for holding my FNH SCAR 17S. Usually guns are stored in my safe but have wanted hard cases for traveling to range. This hard case works perfectly for that - a bit heavy but not unreasonable. I have a similar set up (Pelican 1700 and SERT case) for my FNH SCAR 16S. Couldn't be happier with both!
