It does the job!
I received this heavy box, and it is heavy to lug around for sure... But if you want to protect your items during transport, I have not seen a cargo box that does the job better unless it's made of metal.
It is bulky and it is heavy, so don't expect to take this on a plane without serious extra fees, but it will get there in one piece, that's for sure.
Note that there are no hinges, it is a two piece box that separates completely in two parts when open.

The box contains 6 layers of foam arranged as follows from bottom to top:
A-B-B-B-B-A where A is 1.5" thick regular open-cell foam while B is 3" thick Pick 'N' Pluck open-cell foam. Both A layers have small cut-outs to accomodate the case's wheels and one of its handles. The B layers have no cut-outs.
The advantage of the Pick 'N' Pluck foam is easy customization without tools. However, I plan on upgrading to customized foam inserts as discussed at ar15.com.
