We use these cases to store small fixtures used in science experimentation. The advantage is they hold the fixture and its various parts which won't separate if the case is dropped. Clear lid allows for visual identification of the fixtures.

Pelican delivers quality
I have several different Pelican micro cases and will probably buy more. I use them for microphones, GPS, other camera accessories, etc. I bought this one specifically because it fit a vintage microphone, and they are sensitive to moisture. I keep it in the dry-box with a dessicant and don't have to worry any more about recording in humid environments.
