Essential
Why spend twice the cost of passive 'muffs' just for ear seals? First, they add a little additional noise reduction; reason enough right there. But they are much more comfortable when worn for long periods. Better sealing around glasses is also a plus, further contributing to noise reduction. Th...

DOES NOT FIT TACTICAL SPORT 100 OR TACTICAL SPORT RANGE GUARD
After receiving these in the mail today I went to install them on my tactical sport 100's and they did not fit. After investigating on 3M's website I found out that they fit all Peltor headsets EXCEPT for the tactical sport 100 and range guards.
Very Comfortable
These are extremely comfortable. I could probably go all day without taking them off and on top of that they are amazing at blocking noise.

gel cups for Peltor
These make my pelt or Comtac VIII so comfortable. Not that expensive but a definite good upgrade to do.

Comfortable!!!
I love the 3M Gels!!! Very comfortable for long range sessions. Highly recommend!!!
Pros:
- Comfortable
Cons:
- price
Best Used for:
- shooting
Would recommend: Yes
Extended time use
If planning on using the comtacs for more than a couple hours at a time, the gel cups are highly recommended. Did an all day shooting class with the foam, and by noon was feeling the discomfort/headache setting in. The gel cups are better for heat/head temps too. Seals around ears about the same. It would have been nice to come standard over foam, the one downside Ive heard is that they do wear out the form faster and need replacement eventually. Nature of the beast in gel form.
Pros:
- Cooler temps, less head fatigue
Cons:
- Wear out/need replacement more often than foam
Best Used for:
- All day use
Would recommend: Yes
A must have upgrade
Peltors are some of thr best electronic ear pro on the market but the standard ear seals are trash. These seal better especially if you wear glasses, and you don't hate wearing them all day. It's the first thing I do after taking a pair of peltors out of the box honestly.
Pros:
- Comfort and Quality
Cons:
- An additional expense that should come standard
Would recommend: Yes
3M Peltor Camelback Gel HY80 sealing Rings
The gel rings on the Peltors usually last for a long time. But it’s good to have spares. Orders these as those spares due to having a set bust open at the most in opportune time. And eventually the gel started pushing out the rings. 3M usually makes solid products. I have been using their product for personal and my whole military career. Definitely would recommend to everyone.
Pros:
- does its job
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

New life for 20 year old Peltor (7-5) tactical ear muffs
These new units snapped right into place where the old ones were. A tight fit to be sure -- Took a bit of focused effort to get them to snap in, but the result is near perfection. The replacement gel rings are a bit expensive, yet the results are worth it.

Quality Product
I purchased these gel cups for my Peltor Range Guards and I found no issue with install, fit or durability. They are a definite upgrade for wearing eye protection or glasses. They conform against your head instead of sealing with pressure compared to the stock foam cups. With them now in use, I don't find myself doubling up on hearing protection in indoor ranges even with rifle calibers.

Definite upgrade
Worth every penny. Fits both my Peltor sport tactical 500 and Peltor tactical sport. Bought a set for one pair and had to buy a second set. They seal well around eye pro. I don’t own a pair of Oakley style glasses which tend to have thicker temples however they will still work better then foam pads. The inner ring although not fully detached from outer ring does allow for a better seal with the added crease to allow for the gel to form.
Pros:
- Seal well, comfortable, great for eye pro.
Cons:
- You want them for other ear pro. you may carry in your range bag. $
- You will want them for other ear pro. you may carry in your range bag.
