Most Helpful Positive Review Peltor Tactical 6/ Sound Trap Slim Lime
I got these besause I wanted quality hearing protection without breaking the bank and the specs state they have jacks for connection to audio accessories. What the specs dont tell you is that you must separately purchase the cables with a two pin plug to use this feature at a cost of $20-$40 dependi...

Most Helpful Negative Review Chinese manufactured junk
I was amazed at the poor fit and finish, and overall cheap construction of this ear pro. Batteries power lasted about 10hrs. The shutoff feature feels slow, and also picks up mundane noises like setting a metal thermos on concrete. Switch control has no tension. A real surprise for a Peltor product....

3M says these are discontinued and not supported

by Paul, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 4, 2022
The microphone and sound-enhancing part of the earmuffs don't work, even with 4 new batteries installed, so I called 3M for support and the sales rep says the model # and serial # indicate these earmuffs were discontinued in 2018 (or earlier), and said he had no idea why Optics Planet is selling discontinued products. #Fail
Pros:
  • decent passive ear pro
Cons:
  • electronics don't work
  • discontinued product

These were recommended to me but honestly my Howards are far better for much less money. Everything about these feels cheap. They don't don't even fold up properly, and the battery location is a joke.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Low quality
  • expenisive
  • horible design

3m Peltor Sound-Trap

by DavesNotHereMan, from CA, United States Written on May 31, 2019
After a few range sessions and 50~ hours of use I’d say that I’m impressed by this headset. It provides adequate hearing protection while being small enough to stay out of the way of a rifle stock. The electronics have been great so far. Everything sounds crisp and clear. Small sounds are amplified while louder sounds over a certain level are muted. The headset is light weight, comfortable, and easy to wear for extended periods of time.

Worked great until

by Anonymous, from TX, United States Written on October 11, 2018
The left side of the hearing protection stopped working in under a month. Other then that was good until then. Returned. I’m not surprised though since my last pair I bought years ago had the same issue.

Excellent hearing protection

by Patrick McCarty, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on April 16, 2018
These were a gift for my dad, he loves them, he really appreciates being able to hear voices while still protecting what little hearing he has left. Additionally, the slim design allows for a nice fit when tucked up against the stock. Couldn't be happier, highly recommend these ear muffs.

3m peltor ears review

by Jeff, from VA, United States Written on March 17, 2017
Works just as advertised. Tames the loud noises and exaggerates the soft
Sounds. Battery area is not as difficult as everyone makes it seem. Use at a very loud range and works well. Outdoor ranges are obviously even quieter. I don't see a need for individual on dials per ear but it's not that much of a pain to turn on both.

Hearing protection

by Dennis, from AZ, United States Written on February 23, 2017
Product works great. I would give it five stars except for the totally ridiculous procedure of trying to install batteries. Hearing is excellent when you have volume turned up and at the same time it reduces noise when the shot is fired. Oonly draw back is the battery's installation process.

Money well spent... Some of the very best available

by Pointman, from TX, United States Written on December 14, 2015
I recently took these to my favorite indoor range. These are great, they are relatively compact and are an awesome looking tactical headset. They diminish noise, amplify weak sounds and fold easily into a small package. Most importantly, these provide reliable tactical hearing protection. There is no doubt a lot of engineering went into this design. These lightweight, tactical electronic earmuff headsets diminishes high-level noise and are the perfect size. I was able to use these with the volumes turned up all the way with absolutely no problem.(with no additional ear Plugs Etc
These are made by 3M the Company is a leading resource for hearing, respiratory and eye protection, communication headsets and other tactical safety products.
You will not be disappointed.
Thanks
