The Best!
I own and have used 5 different sound-limiting electonic ear protectors, three of which are Peltor: 6s,7s, and the Tactical Pro. Of all of them, the Peltor 7s is by far the best. The sound fidelity and limiting is the best of the lot; and at any volume level, there is no "white noise" hiss as there is with the Tactical Pro - a very serious flaw. If the 7s had the same NRR as the Tactical Pro, the 7s would be perfect!
Pros: Excellent audio fidelity; easy battery replacement; fast limiting of loud sounds; simple, easy to adjust volume control
Cons: could have 2-3dBa more sound reduction
Excellent Noise Reduction
I am currently in Afghanistan and needed some ear protection that was more versitle. plugs dont work when passing information verbally, and you dont want to go without, so these are the answer! They are amazing! You can choose your amplification level with the volume control and upon any loud sound, it instantly goes silent and quickly back to normal! I cannot recommend these enough...for war or the range!

Cons: Due to it's full size they do not fold up, the downside to the great seal is that the headband is very tight and can be uncomfortable after sometime with sunglasses, will not fit under military helmets

Ultimate Hearing Protection
I get amplification of weak sounds, blocks out loud noises and it has a neat stereo sound. I wish I had one like this many years ago.

Fits well and is very comfortable. A good buy.
Pros: Light and comfortable to wear. Cancels out noise but allows normal level voice to be heard. Adjustable sensitivity level a nice feature.

This is a great product that does as advertised. Shuts out gun fire sound while allowing conversation and ambient sound. Would be an improvement to have an auto shut down. When left on the 9 V battery drains quickly. The on-off switch can easily be turned on by accident. For example, when stuffing in your range bag and rubbing against something. Keep spare batteries at hand.

Peltor Tac 7
Worked very well at a recent 4 day defensive handgun class. If I had known better I would have bought the behind the head set. A little pricey compared to some of the competition but did the job fine.

Peltor Tactical 7
Well made and they do the job they were designed to do. You can easily hear normal conversation, range commands, etc. I found the time it took to return to amplifying sound after a shot was acceptable. I'd recommend these to anyone.
