Great reel for saltwater fishing.mthe only thing one needs to watch is the weight of the reel vs. the type of rod selected. The action is outstanding and the ball bearing are perfect. I would highly recommend this reel for saltwater fishing.

Built penn tough

Solid reel. Not the smoothest reel on the market but tough as expected for the budget fisherman. Tremendous line capacity for a spinner. I've owned them and fished penns for 5 decades and still love how tough they are. I use them for live bait and wait. Do not use for jigging or popping because it will tire me out. Use high end reels for that. None the less if you're young I don't see a problem.

Penn reels tend to be worth the money

Feels well made very smooth drag works nice always consistent. The fit and finish on Penn reels seems to hold up well over time better than most. Price is good compared to other reels in the $150 price range used it about 15 times no issues.
