The Pentax FB-8 8x18 compact binoculars are the best ultra compact binoculars out there. They are the smallest and lightest of the true high quality compacts. Smaller than a pack of cigarettes, they can easily fit in a shirt pocket and they are so light you can even forget that they are there. They're very easy to use with a top, center, focusing knob. They have a diopter adjustment dial on the bottom and the entire body slides apart for interpupillary distance adjustment. The whole design is beautifully and well thought out. They have an easy, quick and sharp focus. They're largest drawback would be that due to the small sizes of the objective and exit lenses they are not good at gathering and transmitting light. While this presents no issues during the daytime use, in evening and low light conditions they can be difficult to use. Their main (huge) plus is their superb portability combined with all the features you'll find in any good quality full size binoculars. They're great for having in a purse or pocket when you're outdoors or at events.
