Most Helpful Positive Review Pentax S-Series Superior SP 20x60 WP
As expected from Pentax, excellent image. If you have a tripod, buy the tripod adapter, because with this magnification you need a stable platform to enjoy when using it for a long time. This is it, now I have to keep writing because the condition to accept the review is to have 200 characters.
Most Helpful Negative Review This Guy is Great
The binoculars appear well made and durable. You can hold them steady without a tripod. They are however hard to adjust to get a proper field of view and focus. I had the chance to compare them to a lower power pair of Vortex binoculars. The Vortex seemed much clearer and it was easier to pick out d...

"High Speed and Low Drag."

by rick, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 2, 2025
Man these are "High Speed and Low Drag."
The locking focus. The detente right eye dial-in, these are well thought out binoculars.
They fit in your hands, like a natural stock-weld, if you will.
Talk about clarity, even in very low light, they work.
As an Old JarHead, I've looked through; a lot of glass.
These are As clear as my "truck pair" and they are made in Germany.
I read about the bag and the weight, the bag does it's job.
As far as the weight; they are not opera glasses that's for sure, but nice for the size and quality of the glass (binos).
These are my new RV binos.
feel free to use any of this as you want.
Rick
Pros:
  • locking focus, detente rt eye
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • anything you need glass for.

Pull the trigger!

by IDontNeedAnythingElse, from CA, United States Written on August 9, 2020
Yes, I spent the $235.50 and it was well worth the price. The optics are OK, they do everything I need them to do. Use them at the gun range and for spotting game. I looked at much more expensive optics although I like them (Vortex, Nikon, Swarovski, Zeiss), the Greek in me came out :). They are on the heavy side, and the carrying case is a throwaway product, buy something better. Take the money you save and use it on a good rifle scope.
Pros:
  • Great value!
Cons:
  • Heavy, large form-factor, good to have a tripod.
Best Used for:
  • Great at the range and spotting game.

Perfect for my needs

by Bob, from MI, United States Written on April 7, 2019
Great value. High quality fully multi coated optics. Shockproof and waterproof to 3 feet. Excellent eye relief. Crystal clear detailed image. I can easily see the leaf buds on a maple tree 30 yards from my back door. The detented twist up eyecups work very well. The focus lock is another great feature. I have read complaints about the narrow field of view and flimsy carrying case. I found the field of view perfect for casual observing and star gazing, and the case does everything I need it to do. The quality is at least equal to binoculars costing much more. I would not want to spend less either and possibly get stuck with colimation issues. Lastly while not hard to hand hold, you will need a tripod mount. I ordered the Leopold model and it works well. There are many others. Pentax sp 20x60 wp. Outstanding value.
Pros:
  • Build quality
  • Optics
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Birding
  • Astronomy

by ed, from CA, United States Written on October 14, 2018
Nice clear binoculars, heavy but can be used without tripod. Comes with 2 back cups, that falls off easily and front cup that does not stay on. The bag is cheap, and I could not find a replacement yet, due to the size of the binoculars.overall the quality is good, no reflections. Clear view for reasonable price
Pros:
  • price, clear view, reasonable wieght
Cons:
  • poor carrying case, and lenses covers. additional cost to buy replacements

best optics

by James Johnson, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on April 25, 2016
These Pentax binocs are exceptionally clear. Another great feature is how easy and smooth the focus knob is to use. Now this 20x60 is a heavy pair-not for extensive walking around with. I wanted just to pull in close objects at home and to use in my deer stand, where I like to watch much more than shoot!
