This thing is very high quality. Great fit and finish, very nice on the hands, great forward grip. It is surprisingly lite for a piston upper (lighter than the standard colt carry handle upper). The price on Optics Planet is exceptional as well. This thing is only second to LWRC and it’s close since it has a very large heat sink near where the barrel attaches. Fits standard dpms lowers.
What A Difference
I got tired of constantly cleaning the carbon out of my bcg. So I decided to try this piston system. POF were one of the pioneers in this realm so I gave them the nod and bought the 16.5 inch. I really am shocked at the difference. After 500 rounds, my bcg is like new. Hardly anything to clean. I just don't know what else to say. It's clean, accurate and has less recoil. I'm gonna give a shout out to the muzzle break for aiding in the recoil department, but still....why the heck have i been breathing gas all these years? For me, it's everything i dreamed of in a firearm. Never going back.

Upper is of good quality. Fit and finish are nice. Reliable with different 5.56 loadings.

super smooth. next to no recoil , but took a 8.3 gram biffer
So put this on a complete aero per x15 lower. And had issues for months with it jamming. Tryied changing the adjustable gas block to all settings nothing helped bcg was comming back way to quick and catching the ejected rds .
It took new springs n my mags. a 8.3 gram buffer and a strong buffer spring To keep the cartridges from spitting fwd and the bolt catching the ejected round and getting stuck & That’s on low setting now normal. But she works great now still a little over pressured. But Dosent jam anymore.

Frank was committed to making a quality piston operated rifle that would be as versatile as the m4a1 well you did it buddy check out the company they are awesome! This upper is built to last and military grade tuff!!! You can’t kill a 415 edge! Don’t know how optics planet can sell them this cheap but thanks!

flawless upper
I have 3 different uppers from POF. The gas piston system works flawlessly and keeps the internals cleaner longer. The bolt is coated for less wear and debris sticking, which again makes for easier cleaning and functions without flaws. Love the upper POF makes, highly recommend for any 80% pairing.
