Tai's Review of Precision Armament EFAB Hybrid Muzzle Brake

Went from a 7.5" with a forward blast diverter to an 11.5" with this beauty attached. The EFAB stands for "Enhanced Flash Arresting Brake," and it does it's job impressively. Gas gets dissipated through these flux capacitor-looking holes while the remaining gas is split among the "prongs" in three directions. The first part eliminates the obnoxious flash that plagues short barrels (some like the flash for its cool factor while others find it a hindrance). The second part reduces muzzle rise considerably for faster target acquisition. This is definitely a huge upgrade since my 7.5" had the flash, was loud, and the muzzle rise took me a little longer to reacquire target while I was running drills with friends. One cool factor this device does have is that it shoots sparkles at night/dark environments thanks to those flux capacitor holes. Beats the classic A2 flash hider, and those beside you will only feel a slight concussion compared to muzzle devices with side vents. If you can skip the rather steep price, I'd highly recommend the EFAB especially if you have a shorter barrel (directions recommend minimum barrel length 10 inches).
Pros:
  • High quality device. Hides the flash and GREATLY reduce muzzle rise.
Cons:
  • Price can be steep compared to the numerous options available for muzzle devices.
Best Used for:
  • Barrels no shorter than 10 inches.
