I got this to lessen the recoil on my ar10. I shot 20 rounds before I put it on, so I could judge the difference. Shot another 20 rounds. The recoil was less, but the sound was a lot louder and my Walker Silencer hearing protection was inadequate to prevent permanent hearing loss. The muzzle blast is directly back at the shooter. I had to blink after every shot, so it was a lot slower for follow up shots.
