Nice scope for the money - Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)

Replaced my Leupold AR Mod 1 (with illuminated SPR reticle) in 1-4X with this model because I needed more magnification to reach out further. I got a chance to test test it out to 600 yards last week. There are many PROS to this scope - first focal plane, clear glass, great reticle, bullet drop compensation is accurate out to 600 yards, good price. There are some CONS - this scope is almost twice the weight as the Leupold it replaced, at 1X the reticle is supposed to act as a "red dot" but the illumination is too weak, even at max setting, in the Texas sun. The green dot on the Leupold SPR reticle is much brighter. I especially struggled with targets that have dark backgrounds. Things improved once I moved to 2X magnification. In my opinion, the PROS outweigh the CONS. This is a lot of scope for the money.
