Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect dmr scope
Really happy with the scope, it lives up to all the positive reviews. Even with old eyes, at 1x it acts as a red dot. I was concerned it might not be visible enough at low power, but that's not the case, and both eyes open operation is no problem.
Most Helpful Negative Review Worthless for Subsonic Ammo.
I purchased this because of the .300 ACC bullet drop dots on the center post. The center post is so thick or the dots are som small in diameter that the dots cannot be seen. If you have seen you tube videos with, what I thought was the same reticle, it is not. In the videos the scope is labeled .300...

Primary Arms always delivers

by Devlin Maraschky, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on January 3, 2024
Primary Arms optics are kind of my go too when it comes to anything magnified, this is my 3rd scope of theirs, second LPVO that I threw on my Ruger American Ranch for a scout rifle set upa. Great glass and a great reticle system that they developed that even the big dogs like trijicon pay for the rights to use. Recommend primary arms to all my friends

Good, not great

by Dan, from PA, United States Written on December 14, 2023
I love the eye relief and the reticle with bdc for my 7.62x39 ar. My only complaint is the illumination switch not having an off setting between each brightness setting. I have a Swampfox lpvo which was about the same price and it has that feature. As does my 3-18 Primary Arms SLx scope. Something to think about for the next version.

outstanding LPVO

by on the wall, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on August 16, 2022
The ACSS reticle is the best reticle in the LPVO market. Primary arms has stepped up its game since I last bought the same optic 5-7 years ago. My first one was SFP. This one is FFP. They both have their place.

The 1-6 zoom is smooth and clear. The 1x is slightly fish-eyed and not a precise 1-1 image but it’s very close. My Vortex does better in that regard. But after 1x, it is very nice.

The reticle lighting is really smooth and graduated. I can get many degrees of light from it for every light condition.

Love the quality and construction. Paired with a Midwest mount and you can’t go wrong for the price. Vortex or Primary arms on all my equipment.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Warranty
Cons:
  • Image Distortion
Best Used for:
  • Farm and ranch security
  • Home defense

Excellent value for low powered variable optic

by va944s, from CO, United States Written on February 23, 2022
I have purchased a number of these scopes for various caliber rifles. I'm impressed by the value of these scopes given their feature set. The ACSS reticles are very flexible and intuitive. Would definitely purchase again.

Don't buy this thing new

by Crisis 2-4, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on January 15, 2022
First off, first focal plane scopes (like this) are generally more expensive and have worse illumination overall than SFP scopes. This is one of the least expensive FFP scopes out there, so you make more than a few compromises. The illumination isn't terribly bright, although the lowest setting is very low, making it useful for low-light visibility of the reticle but bad for using the optic at 1x like a red dot in bright light. This is made worse by the reticle design, which is already hard to pick up fast at 1x due to the horseshoe being the most prominent feature and being quite small at 1x. A few big crosshairs added like a German #1 reticle would fix this if PA ever makes a gen 2 of this optic. Edge-to-edge clarity is good, distortion on 1x isn't great but isn't that big a deal either, and eye relief and exit pupil are both fine. Most importantly, as of time of writing in January 2022, these things are selling for about $300 on the used market, so don't do what I did and pay $400 for one new. I honestly don't know how Primary Arms keeps making optics that are 1) budget-conscious, 2) decent quality, and 3) somehow still overpriced for what you get, but they sure do deliver every time.
Pros:
  • Good glass quality
Cons:
  • Reticle hard to see at 1x
  • Illumination could be way brighter
Best Used for:
  • If you absolutely have to have FFP but don't have more than $350 to spend on an optic
  • Seriously just go buy a Burris RT-6
