Randy's Review of Primary Arms SLx 3-18x50mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)
I have two of these. The first one I bought has the Apollo 6.5 Creedmoor reticle in it. THAT scope has full reticle illumination. It's bright and crisp. No complaints. The glass and everything are just fine as to be expected from Primary Arms scopes.
Being as I liked that one so much I decided to buy another in the .308/6.5GRN Apollo reticle. Same reticle, different illumination. With the .308 version, ONLY THE CHEVRON in the middle is illuminated. I sent it back to Primary Arms thinking it was defective, and ultimately sent it back for a refund. This may be fine if that is what you like and/or are looking for, but that is not what I thought I was ordering and I will go another route. Again, the scope itself and optics looked just fine. No complaints on that.
If this difference in illumination of the same reticle between calibers was made readily apparent in the advertising, I could have made a more informed buying decision and saved a lot of hassle. Hence the reason I am laying this out in the review.
