Jeremy's Review of Primary Arms SLx Gen II 3x Compact Prism Scope,Illum ACSS CQB-M2 5.56 Reticle

I would give this a 5 star but it has a battery. My issue with batteries is if or when they leak an optic if there's no lifetime warranty you're hit getting another one(I don't know what kinda warranty this thing has off the top of my head just how I feel about batteries) ...it's also heavy. 0-25 yards is rough however optic has a rail for a red dot(defeats the purpose if you have astigmatism). Last my research on the battery life is around 1900 hours, it be nice to see double or triple that(however etched glass means you still have a usable optic with failed batteries).
With that said I freaking love this thing. I read some reviews that the reticle is small but it's perfect sized. Kinda busy until you know how to use it. I put this on an ar pistol and feel it's overkill seeing it can reach out 600 yards. It really is an ACOG on a budget. I would love to see this with a fiber optic rail to gather light instead of a battery. I have an astigmatism and the diopter can adjust to make it crystal clear an advantage over an ACOG. When my buddy looked through it his first response was the reticle was to busy for his taste. After I explained how it worked he fell in love and asked me how much it was. Now he's trying to get one. At the end of the day I recommend this optic to anyone that shoots 5.56. There is no video or review that I have found that can truly explain how amazing this optic is.
Pros:
  • Afffordable
  • Durability and dependability
  • Etched reticle visible even if battery fails.
  • Etched glass reticle gives a sharp aiming point even with a stigma
Cons:
  • Battery Life
  • Heavey
Best Used for:
  • shooing
  • quick aquiring targets without a spotter
Would Recommend: Yes
