Jordan's Review of Primary Arms GLx 6-24x50mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)

First off i can say, this optic was developed for long range shooters, by actual long range shooters. The grid style reticle is innovative and uncluttered compared to other ones. This reticle is all you need for different dynamic shots for wind calls, hold overs etc very well placed and thought out. Now the bread and butter of ALL optics in my opinion is tracking. This optic tracked very good. I performed a tall target tracking test, with a piece of paper that had 1 mil spacing all the way to 10 mils. Used a 300 foot tape measure to make sure i was EXACTLY 100 yards away, and had the scope mounted on my rifle. I had a vise that has straps that kept the gun and optic perfectly still, to insure no movement would be in the reticle or gun during this test. I dialed the turrets in different mil increments all the way to 10 mils. This scope lined up with every mil on paper all the way down to 10 mils on the money! Tracking is the most important on an optic, you can have all the clarity you want, but if your adjusting and the reticle is not moving where it is supposed to or close... it’s useless. As said before this optic tracked perfect to the nearest 10th of a mil. Now for clarity... for 800 dollars this scope is outstanding i could see 300 yard bullet holes with this optic. The real nice thing is the locking turrets, they lock tight and the clicks are solid and crisp. Its not world class, i wish the clicks were more audible, but for this price the increments line up and the clicks are solid. The zero stop function/ return to zero is very innovative and works very well. If there is something your gonna need to pay attention to... its gonna be setting up the zero stop, it was a little confusing on the manual, took me awhile to understand it. But once i got it it amazes me how feature packed this optic is for the price. Illuminated reticle seems to work just fine. So in conclusion, an optic that tracks damnear 100%, with locking turrets/zero stop, with good glass... this is hard to beat guys I highly recommend.
