A lot of scope for the money - Primary Arms SLx 4-14 x 44 mm Rifle Scopes, 30 mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)

I must have researched a dozen scopes before I purchased this one. First off, lets start with the important stuff - for the price, the optics on this scope are very clear. I've spent enough time looking through Leupold glass to know that Leupold is a little clearer, but for the money, it's not THAT much clearer, at least not for the mid day shooting I do. The overall construction is solid. I purchased this as part of an under $1000 bench rest/varmint build based around a Savage Model 11VT, and it fits the bill perfectly. The only gripe I have, and it's a minor one, is that the markings on the turrets don't perfectly align with the base markings. To me, that isn't a big deal; I know whether I'm a 1/4 of a marking ahead or behind - that doesn't change. I've read that the clicks were a little mushy....maybe I got lucky, but the detents on the one I have seem pretty positive. Add the practicality of the FFP Mil Dot reticle, and I don't see where you can get a better FFP scope for anywhere near the money. If you're thinking about it - buy it.
