I was looking for a mil dot optic for my 20” AR and always wanted to try the SWFA 10x for its classic design but decided to try this 4-14x to get more power if needed. WOW I wasn’t expecting this level of quality in this price range. I’m literally blown away by Primary Arms for putting out an optic of this quality at this price. I’m not saying it’s on the same level as my Cronus or XTRII, but I wasn’t looking for another massive 34mm tube optic with highly detailed reticle, I wanted something smaller, but tough with a simple reticle for that classic military DMR role. THIS IS THE PERFECT OPTIC for that role. I’m used to good glass that still gets a little dim at higher mags on my 4.5-29 Cronus and 10-40 Burris, so to have this Primary arms at 14x and it’s still crisp and clear with a comfortable eye-box is a huge relief. The body of the optic is probably thicker than anything I own and you can see and feel that. The finish is quality anodizing and looks great. The controls are all optimal without stiff points and the “clicks” feel snappy and tight. Btw this $220 scope easily has the best diopter adjustment of any optic I’ve ever owned and that’s a shame on many higher end manufacturers, because Primary Arms nailed it! I’m literally excited by the quality and value in this 4-14x44. It’s my first primary arms optic, but it won’t be my last.
Pros:
- value
- Quality
- Clear holds zero
- Tough Aluminum

Yeah, I said I would only give 5 stars to a tier one scope but I have found that to be pointless as they are so good that they don't really need reviews anyway, just shooters with a specific preference and deep pockets. For the rest of us, this scope is a solid deal and 5 stars in its price class. I have now been using it regularly since spring of 2018 and it continues to earn its place. The reticle thickness is the best of any FFP that I have used for its entire zoom range, which is a real trick to do. For that reason alone it makes it one of the best deals still, years later, if you want a mil-dot FFP for under $250.

Nice little mildot scope, I wanted something more traditional without a BDC for my AR10 build. Works great, shot out to 400m so far with no problems. Clicks work good, just a little soft and sometimes don't line up exactly. Easy to zero, paralax works fine.
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Mil Reticle
- Repeatable
- Mil adjustments
Cons:
- Spongy clicks
- Clicks are a hair off the hash mark

Mounted this on my PSA 18" 5.56 build sighted it in at 100 yards and moved right to the 300 yard 8" gong striking it every time.
The scope is very clear and will be plenty good at much greater distances.

As a Marine (0311) I’m dipping into the world of long range shooting , after much contemplation I decided this optic would be best FOR ME to learn the craft , haven’t used the optic yet but based off others reviews I think I can say this is a good buy and lookin forward to dial it in , if you too wanna get into long range shooting this would be a great entry level optic if you think like me . It’s a mildot in ffp and ample amount of magnification and light gathering . I’m no sniper but am looking into training to be one (0317) (scout sniper) so that a lot to do why I got it , it ain’t no scmidt amd Bender but the quality of primary arms is great for the average “Merican” to learn the craft . Just my two cents worth .
Best Used for:
- Entry level precision or long range shooting

It pretty much covers 50 to 500 yards shots easy no problem. It’s sights in very easy and the feature where you can 0 the turrets after sighting in is awesome. Focus dial works great and the scope mount is very nice. The scope also comes with a dual connected lens cover for when in storage

I have become a big fan of Primary Arms. I first got one of these for a 700 SPS .223, and recently bought another for a new deer rifle. Click values have been perfect. The turrets have the right amount of resistance to not get bumped off. The 44 obj is a great size, good light transmission but small enough to mount relatively low. The picture quality and FFP are amazing for this price range. I have recommended this to many friends.

After using this scope all summer, and being disappointed by others, I have to add a star to my original review. This scope has been solid, repeatable, and confidence building. Zero problems. Truly a value leader. I still only give 5 stars to top tier products and not top values but this scope is all that.

Best value scope, I can’t complain especially for the price good clarity, ffp, side parallax. Only knock is windage turret feels a little mushy but elevation turret feels positive and decent. They tracked well at the range definitely recommend to anyone on a budget I will be buying more

I needed a scope for my ruger 10/22 build I had done..I like the front focal plain and the mil dot reticle....The scope is very clear, but you must adjust the parallax.all adjustment knobs are big and easy with a good click on each adjustment....for the price, and clarity,it was a great choice for my rifle....
Pros:
- Good clarity and positive adjustments
Cons:
- Eye relief has to be set just right
Best Used for:
- Long distance target rifle
