Bad parallax setting - Primary Arms SLx 1-8x24mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane (FFP)

Use:
I bought this to replace a Primary Arms 1-6x FFP scope. I put it on my competition rifle that's mostly used from 100 yards and in, but with the occasional 300-600 yard shots.

The good:
The reticle is quite nice and it works well at 1x and 8x. The distance-based BDC makes for very fast shots even at range.

The bad:
Unfortunately, the parallax was set incorrectly from the factory, so it has to be sent back. It's supposed to be fixed at 100yards, but at 100 yards it floats on the target for about 1.5" of total drift. From some testing it appears to be set ~25 yards. This is the second scope I've bought from PA that the parallax was set incorrectly and had to be sent back. The first one was replaced with a correctly set parallax, so I'm confident that this one will also be replaced/fixed properly. They did pay return shipping, so I'm only out the ammo and time.

The eye-box on the 1-8 is tighter than the 1-6, even at 6x. I'm guessing that's just a trade-off for the extra magnification. If you're doing matches with unconventional positions, you may prefer the 1-6 but I think the extra magnification is worth it.
