Day light bright
I saw and watched all the reviews saying the ret washes out and is maroon not red in bright day light on 1x. The first day I got it I mounted it on an AR walked outside, bright sunny day and the ret was bright red. Maybe they changed something..IDK Is the ret small on 1x...well yes and no. If you a...

Bad parallax setting
Use:
I bought this to replace a Primary Arms 1-6x FFP scope. I put it on my competition rifle that's mostly used from 100 yards and in, but with the occasional 300-600 yard shots.
The good:
The reticle is quite nice and it works well at 1x and 8x. The distance-based BDC makes for very fast shots...

SLx8 1-8x24 FFP
The scope is perfect for my needs. The highest power gives you all the information you need to cover the target with no guesswork. The scope is made for this rifle no computations and hold overs right on. The confidence level goes through the roof.

solid optic for the price. good value.
I've had this optic mounted on my truck rifle for about 3 years now. It lives under the back seat and goes all over the country with me and has seen some hard use and frankly some abuse. I have had zero issues with it. Part of the reason I bought it to begin with is because I was already familiar with the acss reticle from my time in the army. So not having to learn holds on something different was convenient. The whole points don't seem to be quite perfect with the combo of most 55 grain ball and a 16 inch barrel, but I imagine if you are running heavier like 69 or 72 it would be closer but I have not tested that. All in all probably the best value optic I own. Nitpicking I would like to see it come with flip caps that fold all the way over. The ones that came with mine are pretty cheap but at least it came with them. Recently bought a 1,400 optic that came with nothing so that was disappointing.

all Around scope
Gkass is clear and loce the reticle . Originally was going to use on scout rifgle but couldn't get appriate eye relief. Put on Ar with 16" barrel and works wonderfully. Definitely recommend as a cost conscious option

Best Buy for your AR-15
I did receive the optical and I love it. Please wear your medical prescription eye glasses before you review and rate this optics. I try Vortex and I see a big difference and that is the price for the same opticals. The built is identical with the other high ends optics. It’s very light weight and look very durable to a point like every other optics. I think the ACSS reticle is perhaps one of the best reticles…I am a big fan :) Buy it and practice on this optical. Some reviews it say that this is a 34mm tube! NO, IT’S NOT it’s just a 30mm tube.

Returned it
Had high hopes for this but the fish eye/distortion on 1x sucks and the tight eye box on 8x double sucks. Pretty nice otherwise. Reticle and illumination are both good. Returning it and am on the hunt for something else.

Had to return to OP due to lens distortion/fish eye
Upon receiving the optic I immediately noticed a severe fish eye effect at 1x. This lessened when I magnified to 8x, however, was still very noticeable. This is my first LPVO so wanted to make sure this was not typical. I spoke with Primary and they were very professional, however, they told me that this was not normal and there was in fact an issue and that it may have been "dropped" while in transit and that one of the lenses may be "loose". They did offer to fix it but it would take 3 weeks. Much easier to get refunded by OP.
I chose this optic based on a Garand thumb review on Youtube. This was done on Primary's 1-6 but by my estimation this optic should be no different. In the review he stated that this optic (1-6) was not suitable for combat use at which point Primary contested and insisted he do another review to "torture test" the optic. I suggest watching these reviews if you are reading this although I do question whether or not his optics were cherry picked by the supplier prior to the review. I agree with Garand Thumb's initial assessment but second that in saying this thing either died in a soft sponge wrapped box or whomever does QC at Primary was having a really bad day.
I do not expect duty use reliability from an optic at this price point, however, I would expect the optic to last longer than it's slightly overweight dad bod shooter with no military or LE experience. This thing was dead on arrival. Don't be cheap and save your money for what you really want...
