PWS MK111 MOD2
What can I say better that hasn't been said before about Primary Weapon Systems? By far the best company out there manufacturing quality products such as gas piston uppers and lowers. I paired the PWS MK111 MOD-2 Upper (11.85in) up with my Factory PWS MK1 MOD 2-M Pistol Lower and have shot around 600 rounds so far of brass 5.56 Nato (Winchester, Federal, PMC) with out any malfunctions, jams, failure to feed, etc., using a Trijicon 1.5x16 TA44 ACOG Scope and LT105 QD Mount. I have yet to shoot it suppressed and look forward to it! This is my first PWS product, and I am very satisfied with my pu...

Design has known flaws
At about 1500 round Mark I started noticing issues. The accuracy was terrible and the interior finishing was coming away. B they have many rifles and I’m able to shoot from one to 3MOA with reference ammo. This thing was shooting above 6MOA, sometimes struggling hit a 10 inch plate 200 yards. I did a deep clean and found that the camp pin was gouging part of the inner receiver away. I sent it back to PWS. They responded that gouging of the receiver by the campaign is a known problem and their engineering team is working to solve that with the next generation. He also claimed to have shot a one MOA group, which I absolutely do not believe.
Best Used for:
- Boat anchor for a very small boat.

Works great as a pistol upper!
Finally decided which direction to go for my pistol build. Wanted something light weight and even though this is a little heavier than I originally planned, the long stroke piston doesn’t add too much weight. I liked the idea of this over the DI system. It's very high quality so far, accurate, and smooth running. I’ve only tested it indoors at 25 yards, but so far so good! PMC Bronze 55 grain runs great, but one light primer strike out of first 100; I’ve had this happen in another AR with same ammo, so I’m not faulting the PWS just yet. Frontier 75 grain worked great so far!
Pros:
- High quality, lightweight, accurate, piston means less gas suppressed, unique
Cons:
- A little heavier than DI
Best Used for:
- ar pistol

Great suppressor host
Fantastic upper, very soft shooting on the 2nd gas setting with my Flow556k on it. Nice compact Pisol ;) that I plan on SBRing my lower for it. Fit and finish is great with almost no movement when attached to my Aero lower. This is my third PWS upper and I have been pleased with all of them. PWS makes a great product. I was smacking steel at 325yards with no issues with the red dot sight on it. 300 rounds so far through this upper and it’s been 100% reliable so far
Pros:
- Reliable and clean shooting
Cons:
- Expensive
Best Used for:
- CQB style shooting or home defense

let me slurp
Well, had to wait 40 days, but im not even mad. PWS MK111 MOD2 is the best purchased ive ever made on opticplanet. I can't believe how light it is. It feels like my MCX upper is twice as heavy in comparison. The technology is worth every penny. The build just oozes quality. But to be fair, I did have one problem. If you plan on putting this on a LMT or LWRC lower, that style of ambi bolt release may not release the bolt when pressed on the ejector side. Does it matter? Not likely.
