Most Helpful Positive Review I couldn't hunt turkeys without Pro-Ears.
I'm 28 and I have about 30% hearing loss in the higher frequency range. I can hear well enough in everyday life that I get by fine without hearing aids with the exception of some soft speaking women,. I have never been able to hear turkeys on my own unless they're well inside 100 yards. Very di...

Most Helpful Negative Review Pro ears Predator plus
I bought a pair of these and after 8 months and having used them 7-8 times they stopped working. Sent them back as per the warranty with the required $39.00 fee and they were repaired. Batteries are $10.00 and muffs don't fit the head tight enough. My less expensive electronic muffs using AA batte...

For this price you would be crazy not to try these out. After shooting for a few years with another type of muffs, I can't believe how comfortable these are in comparison. I highly recommend them to everyone.

Outstanding and comfortable. Really makes a day at the range a better experience. I have tried other sound restrictions and felt nausea and dizzy after about an hour. Not with the Pro Ears Pro 300 Wind Abatement hearing protection headset. Additionally, in the heat of south Texas, it does not take long for other protection headsets to become extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, since I have a hearing problem, these headsets make it possible to hear instructions from the range officers and other shooters.

Pro Ears Pro 300 Wind Abatement Hearing Protection NRR 26dB Headset

by Jim, from TX, United States Written on December 29, 2015
Nice construction quality and sound protection. Battery area a but cheap. Instead of a compartment that closes, batteries are protected by foam. They work and look very good. I would recommend these hearing protection headset. A bit pricey but the quality is there. I will be buying a second pair when they go on sale again.
Pros:
  • color options
  • Sound deadening
  • Quality, ruggedness
  • Fits well, great construction
Cons:
  • pricey, but worth it
Best Used for:
  • shooting/range day

Pro Ears300

Quality was good but these muffs are way to huge for rifle shooting and forbids a decent cheek weld. I returned them and got a pair of Howard Leight for less money and superior sound and fit.
If you shoot pistol they are fine but no match for the thinner Leights.
Also the HLs take a more common triple A batteries and include input for your Mp3 player or smart phone.

Pro Ears Pro 300 Hearing Protection

by James, from NJ, United States Written on August 27, 2015
As most ranges now require electronic hearing protection to better hear the range officer's instructions, I had to retire my old passive hearing protection earmuffs. After some research, the Pro Ears hearing protection Pro 300 meet my needs for shotgun, handgun, and rifle shooting. The unit has great sound amplification and sufficient noise reduction for most uses. However, the noise reduction rating of 26 (NRR) was a tradeoff for the low profile fit. (But, the NRR is higher than most similarly priced units.) So, for Magnum rifles with a muzzle brake, additional hearing protection earplugs are suggested.

While the noise reaction time is not as fast as the Pro Ears Gold Series hear protection ear muffs, (1.5 milliseconds vs. 5.0 milliseconds), the reaction time is much better than other manufacturer's units (if you can even find their rated reaction time.)There is, of course, a tradeoff of cost and performance and the price point of these units from Optics Planet was ideal.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • For magnum rifles with muzzle brakes, double protection may be required. Also, ear muffs may interfer with rifle stock

Pro Ears Pro 300

Good solid hear protection. More than enough, and comfortable on the range, but at an indoor facility you will still need to double up with some disposables as well, but thats normal. The volume control on each ear is a little different, and takes some getting to used too, I made a small mark on my ear cup where I like the volume, so when i turn it on, both knobs go to the same spot each time, just my preference. Recommmended for sure though.

Great Headset; Highly Recommend

by lisardgal, from CA, United States Written on February 23, 2015
Great headset. I only use noise cancelling products at this point. Wonderful set of headsets and everyone is always jealous of them at ranges and outdoor shooting. I also love how I can hear what everyone is saying; these things inadvertently are a hilarious spy tool. You can hear birds chirping too; such a surprise.
